There will be two sobriety checkpoints in West Central Ohio tonight.
The State Highway Patrol, in conjunction with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office and the Bellefontaine Police Department, announced today that a sobriety checkpoint will be held from 11:00 pm to1:00 am on South Main Street in Bellefontaine.
The State Highway Patrol, in conjunction with the Marysville Police Department and Union County Sheriff’s Office, announced today that a sobriety checkpoint will be held from 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Industrial Parkway, in Union County.
The sobriety checkpoints will be operated using federal grant funding, and is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers.
The checkpoints will also be held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to aggressively combat alcohol-related injury and fatal crashes.
Troopers are again reminding those who plan to consume alcohol to also plan for a sober driver, or make other appropriate travel arrangements before drinking. Alcohol-related crashes continue to be a significant problem nationally and locally. Please help the Patrol prevent more tragedy resulting from impaired driving by spreading the message.
