Updated: Local driver injured after striking city church

A city driver suffered minor injuries after she backed out of the Village Pantry gas station and struck a downtown church Tuesday afternoon around 3:15.

The Bellefontaine Police Department reports that Crystal Noe, 33, of 648 Cooper Avenue, was driving a 2012 Kia when she crossed East Sandusky Avenue and struck a pillar support (pictured) at the First Christian Church.

Noe, who was wearing her seat belt, was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital by Bellefontaine Fire and EMS.

She was cited for failure to control.

Her car was towed from the scene.

Noe somehow avoided hitting any vehicles on Sandusky Avenue.
