A city woman was issued a summons after her dogs escaped and caused a motorcycle crash in the 900 block of North Troy Road Friday morning around seven o’clock.
The Bellefontaine Police Department charged Teresa Gatchell, 53, of 501 North Troy Road, with dogs at large.
Officers report that Joel Hoelscher, 34, of 7186 Township Road 137, Rushsylvania, was driving a '99 Harley-Davidson northbound on Troy Road when he struck one of Gatchell’s dogs.
Hoelscher and passenger Sheila Judd, 37, of 1026 Heritage Court, Bellefontaine, were ejected.
Both of them suffered minor injuries.
He was treated at the scene.
Judd was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital by Bellefontaine Fire and EMS.
Hoelscher and Judd were not wearing a helmet.
The dog, who suffered serious injuries, was euthanized.
The second dog that got loose was not injured.
