A rural Quincy man was arrested following a domestic disturbance with his live-in girlfriend at their residence Friday night around 7:15.
The Logan County Sheriff's Office reports that Richard Whiting (pictured), 45, of 650 County Road 23 South, got into an altercation with Patty Vickers, 48, who suffered a cut above her left eye.
Vickers told deputies that Whiting struck her in the head, then took off walking on 23 towards State Route 47.
Deputies found Whiting walking along the roadway and took him home.
Vickers said they got into argument that turned physical.
She said Whiting pushed her into a chair, which caused her to fall down.
He then threw a beer can, which struck Vickers in the forehead causing the cut near her eye.
Whiting, who denied striking her with a beer can, was charged with domestic violence and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Deputies said Whiting and Vickers were intoxicated.
