A Columbus man was arrested Friday after he allegedly threatened a co-worker at Environmental Management, 8220 Industrial Parkway, Plain City.
The Union County Sheriff's Office arrested Thomas Coverdale (pictured), 42, after he forced a payroll clerk to falsify time sheets to increase his pay.
The total amount paid to Coverdale over a period of time was in excess of $10,000.
Deputies charged Coverdale with three counts of extortion. Each charge is a third-degree felony.
Coverdale was arrested on South High Street in Columbus, then lodged in the Tri-County Jail in Mechanicsburg.
Union County officials were assisted by the Franklin County Sheriff's Office Special Investigative Unit.
Coverdale appeared in Marysville Municipal Court Monday morning and was held on a $75,000 bond.
Deputies continue their investigation.
