Green Hills Care Center is ranked in the top five percent of skilled nursing facilities in the state, according to the Ohio Department of Medicaid.
The Care Center, located at Green Hills Community, 6557 US 68 South, West Liberty, received 17 points out of a possible 20 points that measure quality care as established by the state agency.
Facilities earn points in areas of overall performance, resident choice, clinical performance, environmental characteristics, and employee retention.
“As a community non-profit, Green Hills is committed to providing quality care and services to the Logan and Champaign County area. We are always looking for ways to improve and are pleased to have scored so well,” said Stephanie DeWees, vice president and administrator at Green Hills Community.
President and CEO Mike Ray further explained the better score.
“We promote a ‘Resolve to Live GREEN’ philosophy. Residents and staff are encouraged to actively give, respect, engage, encourage, and nurture on a daily basis. We believe that this healthy attitude about life encourages employee retention which in turn promotes quality care. That’s how we do things differently.”
The median number of quality points earned statewide was 12. Not-for-profit facilities had a median of 14 points while for-profit facilities had a median of 12 points.
