A city man was arrested on multiple counts following an outburst in the Mary Rutan Hospital Emergency Room Thursday night around 7:30.
The Bellefontaine Police Department reports that Gary Pool, 57, of 901 North Main Street, was transported to the emergency room by Bellefontaine Fire and EMS for a possible seizure.
Hospital staff quickly determined that Pool was intoxicated, but he was not having a seizure.
Pool then repeatedly called 911 and demanded a shot of morphine.
A physical altercation ensued when an emergency room nurse tried to take away Pool's phone.
As the nurse was holding him down on a gurney, Pool bit and pinched the nurse.
Police responded and handcuffed Pool.
He then threatened to kill hospital staff and officers.
Pool was charged with felony assault for attacking the emergency room nurse.
He was also charged with two counts of aggravated menacing and single counts of persistent disorderly conduct and misuse of 911.
Pool was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
