A large fire destroyed a 150-year-old cabin on Fawn Island Saturday morning around 8:15.
Firefighters from Lakeview and Indian Joint responded to the fire on the north side of Indian Lake near the Moose Lodge.
Lakeview Fire Chief Norm Spring said the cabin was made from creosote poles, which made the blaze spread quickly.
The home was fully engulfed when crews arrived by boat.
Local historian David Bohla owned the cabin, which was the only building on the island.
Several residents around the lake saw the fire and called 911.
Chief Spring said the cause is undetermined.
Authorities are still compiling a damage estimate.
No one was injured.
Firefighters were on scene for about 2.5 hours.
