Local author Shary Duff will hold a live signing and Tonic Sol-Fa to performs at the Holland Theatre

There’s nothing like holding a book in your hands, especially one you wrote.  Recently, Shary Duff found out just what that feels like as she holds “How to Rock the World When You Get Rocked”, a book that details her journey as a successful businesswoman and mother, while sharing how she found emotional and spiritual peace despite several challenging life events.

“It’s been a whirlwind (both writing the book and having it published),” commented Duff.

But the book world is nothing new to this local success story, as the former owner of Peach Tree Books & Co. for nearly 15 years. During her tenure as the owner of Peach Tree, Shary welcomed and built friendships with hundreds of authors and publishers as just one valuable portion of the business. “Live author book signing events were always exciting, and I wanted to create a magical experience for both the author and our local community,” she said.

The book, published by Advantage Media Group, retails for $18.95 and will be available at her upcoming live book signing event at The Holland Theatre in Downtown Bellefontaine on Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 5:00-7:30 p.m. just before the highly acclaimed quartet group Tonic Sol-fa performs.

“How to Rock the World When You Get Rocked” is beautifully designed, with a gorgeous texture and the practical, and offers helpful Stress Management and Wellness best practices that Shary shares from her own personal journey throughout business, family, health and life.

The book features local illustrators Wanda Stahler and Mila Duning-Hamilton, who helped design heartfelt and warming pictures throughout the book depicting Shary’s journey, including family memories and her life’s momentos.

“I am so excited to share this book and it’s message with the community of women everywhere who have ever been through a struggling chapter in their life, I just want them to know that there is peace, joy and love for them in this world, they just have to reach out and grab it!” Duff comments.

The live book signing event is scheduled just prior to the live performance from the acclaimed Tonic Sol-fa quartet group at the The Holland Theatre in Downtown Bellefontaine, located at 127 E. Columbus Avenue, on Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 5:00-7:30 p.m.  Get your copy of “How to Rock the World When You Get Rocked” at this public event, online at Amazon.com and other online book retailers, or visit www.SharyDuffBook.com.

Tonic Sol-fa

Although they are simply four voices and a tambourine, Tonic Sol-fa has spent considerable time on the road carving their niche as the nation’s top vocal group. In the midst of touring, this quartet has been named one of the top five “must see” groups in America, has been awarded numerous original song and album awards in pop, gospel and holiday genres, appeared on NBC’s Today Show and in the pages of Newsweek magazine. Outings with Jay Leno, Shawn Colvin, and Garrison Keillor have propelled album sales to more than 2,000,000 copies (mostly sold from the back of their trailer!) and have earned the group thousands of intensely loyal fans.

The New York Times describes Tonic Sol-fa’s sound as “A vocal kaleidoscope…unique to the human voice.” Improvisational and passionate music combined with cutting-edge stage presence is the benchmark by which critics and fans agree: nobody does it like Tonic Sol-fa!

The event will be September 22nd at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for Seniors/Students, and $7 for children under 12. Limited table seating, which includes a beverage and a snack, can be purchased for $20.

Tickets can be purchased on line at www.thehollandtheatre.org or by calling the Holland Theatre at 937-592-9002 during office hours (10am –1:30pm M-F). Tickets are also available at the door the night of the performance.

This event is sponsored by LeVan’s Body Shop, and the Holland Theatre is located at 127 E. Columbus Avenue in Bellefontaine.
