The Marysville Post of the State Highway Patrol responded to a fatal motorcycle accident south of Lakeview Sunday night around seven o’clock.
Troopers report that Michael Houchin, 54, of 629 East Columbus Avenue, Bellefontaine, was driving a ’99 Honda motorcycle southbound on State Route 235 south of Township Road 240 when he went off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole.
Houchin was not wearing a helmet. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Logan County Coroner.
Houchin worked for the Bellefontaine Water Department.
The Washington Township Police Department, Indian Lake EMS, and Lakeview Fire Department assisted at the scene.
This is the first fatal accident in Logan County this year.
The wreck remains under investigation.
