Two killed in rural Hardin County crash

Two people riding in a stolen pickup were killed in a crash on private property near Mt. Victory Tuesday morning around five o'clock.

The Findlay Post of the State Highway Patrol reports that Michael Fay Jr., 35, of Kenton, was driving a 1996 Chevy Silverado south on a driveway at 19034 County Road 200.

The pickup continued south into a pasture where it struck a large rock. The vehicle then caught on fire.

Fay was ejected. The Montgomery County Coroner's Office identified him as the driver.

The passenger has not been identified.

Troopers worked the Hardin County Sheriff's Office to determine that the pickup was stolen from Cars Plus on the south side of Kenton moments before the fatal crash.

If you know more about the accident or theft, contact the Findlay Post of the State Highway Patrol at 419-423-1414.
