An Indian man facing rape and two other felony charges agreed to a plea deal before Logan County Common Pleas Court Judge Mark O'Connor Wednesday afternoon.
Gurwinder Singh, 25, previously of 12500 State Route 235 North, Lakeview, admitted to raping a customer at a local gas station earlier this year.
In exchange, prosecutors dismissed kidnapping (F1) and disrupting public service charges (F4).
Singh allegedly raped an Indian Lake woman at the Marathon Fueling Plaza, 12500 State Route 235 North, Lakeview, on February 25th around 9:20 p.m.
The Logan County Sheriff's Office responded and charged Singh with one count of rape.
Singh lived and worked at the gas station.
The 24-year-old victim reported the incident.
Deputies transported her to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment.
After a brief investigation, Singh was arrested and lodged in the Logan County Jail.
In March, he was indicted for rape (F1), kidnapping (F1), and disrupting public service (F4).
Singh will be sentenced on November 25th. He will be labeled a Tier III sex offender. Prosecutors are recommending a five-year sentence.
