A second serious crash in as many days west of Marysville remains under investigation as as a Columbus man was taken by MedFlight to Grant Hospital Thurday afternoon.
Troopers from the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol report that at approximately 2:11 p.m. Thursday, a 1999 Mitsubishi Mirage driven by Franklin A.J. Ames, 25, of Columbus, drove off the right side of the road while headed eastbound on US 33, west of State Route 4. The vehicle reportedly went down an enbankment, overturned, and came to rest on the edge of a retention pond. US 33 was closed for 40 minutes while troopers and Union County deputies cleared the scene.
Ames had what were described as life-threatening injuries.
