A city pedestrian suffered serious injuries when he was struck by a pickup in the 300 block of Ludlow Road Friday afternoon just before two o'clock.
The Bellefontaine Police Department reports that David Wilgus, 48, of 316 Ludlow, was hit by a southbound Ford F150 driven by Scott Repko, 47, of Columbus.
Wilgus, who was walking on crutches, was struck while trying to enter his Ford F150.
After being pushed into the side of his pickup, Wilgus went airborne and landed on the roadway.
He was transported to the helipad by Bellefontaine Fire and EMS, then flown to OSU Medical Center in Columbus.
Repko could not use the northbound lane, which was occupied by a garbage truck.
Repko was not injured. He was wearing his seat belt.
Both pickups had minor damage.
The accident remains under investigation.
