Vehicle theft quickly solved, three local residents arrested

Three local residents were arrested after they allegedly stole a pickup from a Bellefontaine man earlier this week.

Michael Cunningham (pictured), 20, of 214 Pratt Street, Apt. 5, Bellefontaine, and two juveniles were taken into custody after the Marysville Post of the State Highway Patrol spotted a stolen 2003 Dodge Ram at Veterans Memorial Park on State Route 47 in West Mansfield Wednesday morning around eight o'clock.

The victim, Offitt Harless, 52, of 348 Penny Lane, reported the stolen vehicle Wednesday morning around 6:20.

Cunningham was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, theft, and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Chase Michael Burks, 16, of 430 Seymour Street, Bellefontaine, and Jacob Ford, 17, of 747 County Road 5, Zanesfield, were charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and theft.

The Bellefontaine Police Department filed the theft charges following several vehicle break-ins between late Tuesday and early Wednesday.

The Logan County Sheriff's Office assisted the State Patrol during the arrests.

Cunningham was lodged in the Logan County Jail.

Burks and Ford were lodged in the Logan County JDC.
