Grand Jury indicts 17 – local teen indicted for ten auto thefts

The Logan County Grand Jury indicted seventeen people earlier this week, including a city teen that reportedly stole ten cars over the last few months.

Hayden Hensel (pictured), 18, of 116 ½ Powers Street, Bellefontaine, was indicted for nine counts of theft of motor vehicle (F4), two counts of breaking and entering (F5), and single counts of theft of motor vehicle (F5), failure to comply (F3), burglary (F3), and theft (F5).

On July 13th, the Logan County Sheriff's Office arrested Hensel on multiple counts following a pursuit southwest of Bellefontaine.

A deputy on patrol saw Hensel driving a stolen Honda eastbound on County Road 11 near Township Road 216.

A high-speed pursuit ensued when Hensel refused to pull over.

He reportedly reached speeds over 90 miles per hour and passed several vehicles while going southbound on County Road 18.

Hensel turned south on County Road 187 and crashed near the intersection of Township Road 30.

He fled on foot, but was taken into custody moments later.

Hensel was charged with felony counts of fleeing, failure to comply with an officer, and receiving stolen property. He was charged with several misdemeanors, including criminal trespassing, criminal damaging, speed, reckless operation, failure to control, and passing on the right of way.

The entire incident lasted twenty minutes.

The Bellefontaine Police Department assisted with their K-9 unit.

The Honda was stolen from a residence on County Road 10 just east of Bellefontaine.

In May, Hensel was arrested for auto thefts that happened in the West Mansfield and Mt. Victory area.

Authorities recovered all three stolen vehicles along with GPS units, cell phones, and a variety of other stolen property.

Dale Zimmerman (pictured), 36, of 308 Main Street, Quincy, was indicted for complicity to aggravated arson (F2), complicity to commit burglary (F3), and complicity to commit theft (F3).

In April, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office arrested Zimmerman and three other Quincy men for the March 4th burglary and arson at Chuck Stevens’ DeGraff home.

The State Fire Marshal’s Office was also contacted to assist in the fire investigation.

Authorities discovered that a burglary and theft had occurred at the residence before the fire was set.

Mr. Stevens reported that a large number of firearms were missing from his home.

Zimmerman was charged with burglary and theft.

Charles Morrison, 25, of 104 Yost Street and Alex Stewart, 28, of 111 Walnut Street, were each charged with aggravated arson, safecracking, burglary, and theft.

Spencer Cox, 25, of 106 McKinley Street, was charged with burglary.

Chad Brown (pictured), 37, of 6399 Lima Street, Huntsville, was indicted for rape (F1) and gross sexual imposition (F3).

In April, the Logan County Sheriff's Office charged Brown with one count of gross sexual imposition.

The victim was a female under the age of 13.

The girl’s family contacted the sheriff’s office.

Deputies were assisted by Logan County Children's Services.

Mary Begley, 44, of 105 Walnut, Rushsylvania, was indicted for theft (F3).

Begley reportedly embezzled more than $100,000 when she was the parish secretary at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Bellefontaine.

Colin Amidon, 24, of 2128 County Road 11, Bellefontaine, was indicted for theft from elderly (F4), theft of credit card (F5), and misuse of credit card (F4).

In June, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office arrested Amidon for stealing personal items and a credit card from his grandfather's County Road 11 home.

Christopher Collingsworth, 21, of 211 West Wagner Street, Alger, was indicted for complicity to commit burglary (F3), complicity to commit theft (F3), and complicity to theft (F5).

Anna Burns, 20, of 211 West Wagner Street, Alger, was indicted for burglary (F3), theft (F3), and theft (F5).

Monty Jeanneret, 18, of 533 Fairview Avenue, Russells Point, was indicted for two counts of complicity to burglary (F3), and single counts of attempted burglary (F4) and receiving stolen property (F5).

Jerry Givens, 35, of 1035 Miller Street, DeGraff, was indicted for theft (F5), forgery (F5), and possession of drugs (F5).

Spencer Cox, 25, of 106 McKinley Street, Quincy, was indicted for complicity to commit theft (F3).

Shawna Sayre, 29, of 1000 West Columbus Avenue, Bellefontaine, was indicted for two counts of forgery (F5).

Jack Rufus, 42, of 140 West Sandusky Avenue, Bellefontaine, was indicted for domestic violence (F3).

Julie Haynes, 40, of 10716 State Street, Lakeview, was indicted for illegal conveyance (F3).

Jesse Kindle, 29, of 15427 State Route 235, Lakeview, was indicted for theft of drugs (F4).

Candace Miller, 30, at large, was indicted for theft (F4).

Gregory Reed, 49, of 5313 State Route 235 North, Lewistown, was indicted for three counts of nonsupport (F5).

Wesley Bickle, 49, of 3796 Harrison Road, Bellefontaine, was indicted for violating civil protection order (F5) and aggravated menacing (M1).
