The Logan County Grand Jury indicted 11 people earlier this week, including an inmate that escaped from the Logan County Jail earlier this year.
Joseph Knox (pictured), 36, of 320 Garfield Avenue, Bellefontaine, was indicted for escape (F3), safecracking (F4), breaking and entering (F5), four counts of theft (F3, F4, M1, M1), and two counts of burglary (F3).
On August 14th, Knox was working as a trustee in the county jail garden area (outside the secured jail) when he fled.
The jail kitchen staff and fellow inmates alerted the corrections staff.
The Springfield Police Division found and arrested Knox at a motel on August 15th around 6:30 p.m.
Initially, Knox was serving time in the Logan County Jail for contempt charges. He was also being held on a warrant for contempt out of Madison County. Knox began serving his sentence on July 19th. He was scheduled to be released on October 22nd.
Ariel Ballesteros, 38, of 401 Colton Avenue, Bellefontaine, was indicted for aggravated vehicular assault (F3), improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle (F4), and two counts of OVI (M1).
On September 13th, a two-vehicle injury accident on Route 33 near Zanesfield closed the highway for several hours.
The Marysville Post of the State Highway Patrol responded to a motorcycle/SUV crash on 33 just east of County Road 10 around 12:30 a.m.
Troopers report that a westbound 2011 Harley-Davidson VRod driven by Ballesteros rear-ended a '99 Honda CR-V operated by April Smith, 59, of 10235 State Route 638, Belle Center.
The motorcycle went off the right side of the road and overturned.
The CR-V traveled across the median, overturned, and came to rest upright in the southeast lanes of 33.
Ballesteros, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to Grant Medical Center by MedFlight.
Smith was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital by Robinaugh EMS.
Her passenger, Jill Woods, 59, of 109 East Main Street, Belle Center, was flown to Grant Medical Center by CareFlight.
The westbound lanes and one southeast lane of 33 were closed for three hours.
Matthew Bugg (pictured), 19, of 5146 County Road 152, East Liberty, was indicted for two counts of unlawful sex with a minor (F4).
Isaiah Luster, 24, of 1177 Preserve Park Drive, Loganville, Georgia, was indicted for possession of cocaine with a major drug offender specification (F1), trafficking in cocaine with a major drug offender specification (F1), trafficking in marijuana (F4), possession of marijuana (F5), and permitting drug abuse (F5).
Jason Mahe, 27, of 228 East Chillicothe Avenue, Bellefontaine, was indicted for illegal conveyance at a correctional facility (F3) and possession of heroin (F5).
Johnathan Hocking, 29, of 23804 Parrish Street, Schneider, Indiana, was indicted for two counts of improper handling of a firearm (F4, M4) and two counts of carrying a concealed weapon (F4).
Matthew Fisher, 44, of 5394 County Road 91, Bellefontaine, was indicted for having weapons under disability (F3), improper handling of firearms in a motor vehicle (M4), and possession of drugs (F5).
Steven Jeanneret, 18, of 533 Fairview Avenue, Russells Point, was indicted for burglary (F2), grand theft (F3), intimidation of a witness (F3), attempted intimidation (F4), and possession of criminal tools (F5).
Monty Jeanneret, 20, of 533 Fairview Avenue, Russells Point, was indicted for intimidation of a witness (F3) and obstructing justice (F5).
Brock Rayles, 36, at large, was indicted for theft (F5) and forgery (F5).
Nicole West, 24, of 704 North Main Street, Apt. A, Bellefontaine, was indicted for theft (F5).
