Bernadine Keller, 88, of Belle Center, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2013 at Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefontaine.
She was born on December 17, 1924 in Hardin County, OH to the late Bernard and Mildred (Crook) Smith. She is preceded in death also by a sister, Laurea Ansley.
On June 18, 1949 she married David C. Keller in Kenton, OH and he survives along with their children, Ann (Michael) Hillman of Milwaukee, WI, Mary (Richard) Schoeler of Peninsula, OH and D.C. (Lisa) Keller of Belle Center; six grandchildren, David, Hanna, Christina, Ben, Christian, and Madison. This June 18th Bernadine and David would have celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary.
Bernadine worked as a bookkeeper when she and David were first married. After the birth of their first child she became a full time homemaker and excelled in baking, especially pies, much to the delight of her family. An active member of the United Presbyterian Church in Belle Center, she taught Sunday school and participated in many aspects of the church. She was a member of Eastern Star and she enjoyed reading, playing bridge, singing, and reading her Bible. Her husband and children will miss being so well loved and cared for by her.
Pastor Jim Burton will officiate at an 11:00 am funeral service on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at the United Presbyterian Church, Belle Center. Visitation will be at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Belle Center on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Burial will be at 2:30 pm on Thursday at the Bellefontaine City Cemetery, 632 East Brown Ave., Bellefontaine, OH.
