Shirley A. Hurley Pulfer Titus, 85, of Lakeview, Ohio went to be with the Lord on July 27, 2013.
She was born on June 27, 1928 in Lakeview to the late Daniel L. & Gladys Houchins Hurley. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Daniel Hurley, former husbands, Russell Pulfer, and Gleston Titus, and recently by a very special friend and soul mate, Everett L. Cook.
Shirley is survived by her two sons, Michael (Bettie) Pulfer of Bowling Green, KY, and Phillip (Pamela) Pulfer of Bellefontaine, OH, six grandchildren, Amy Pulfer, Andy Pulfer, and Alan Pulfer, all of Bellefontaine, Ryan Pulfer of Tallahassee, FL, Jessica Pulfer of Key West, FL, and Tessie Titus, of Marysville, OH, eight great grandchildren, Adam (Tiffanee) Pulfer, Leiah Lehman, and Alex Pulfer, all of Bellefontaine, Austen & Collen Pulfer, both of Bellefontaine, Cameron & Caleb Pulfer, both of Kenton, OH, and Owen Pulfer of Tallahassee, two great-great grandchildren, Adalynn Peterson and Sophia Pulfer, both of Bellefontaine, a sister, Elaine Krouskop of West Chester, OH, and many nieces and nephews.
Shirley retired in 1996 as Director of JTPA for Logan County. She also worked at Sears Robuck and Logan County Children Services over the years. Shirley was instrumental in helping a great many people find jobs in Logan County. She was a foster parent for many years and helped to raise many troubled youths. She was a very devoted and loving mother and grandparent. She loved to cook especially bake as well as play cards and have family gatherings. She was happiest when her family and friends were near. Shirley never hesitated to help anyone in their time of need. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Pastor Mark Foor will begin funeral services at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview. Visitation is Tuesday, July 30th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Burial is in Walnut Hill Cemetery, New Hampshire, OH.
