Russel D. Millisor, 80, of Belle Center, passed away Saturday morning, August 31, 2013 at Green Hills Center. He was born in LaRue, Ohio on November 8, 1932 to the late Willis and Willa (Fields) Millisor. He was also preceded in death by a son Daniel Millisor in 1987, brothers Robert, Darrel, John, Junior, Irven, Ralph, Dick, and Norman Millisor, and sister Betty Anshutz.
Russel married Nancy Smith on November 27, 1957 in the Belle Center United Methodist Church and she survives in Belle Center. He is also survived by daughters Jean Ann Millisor of Westerville, Deb (Brian) Thompson of Belle Center, and Julie Smith of Marysville; grandson Logan Conley and granddaughter Tyler Smith; step-grandchildren Derek (Linda) Thompson and Jennifer Thompson; step-great-granddaughters Gabby & Lili Thompson; brother Ronald “Jack” Millisor of Marion; sisters-in-law Vivian Millisor of Belle Center, Eva Millisor of Marion, and Sue Millisor of Ft. Myers, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Russel was a 1950 graduate of LaRue High School and obtained his Bachelor of Science in Education from Ohio Northern University and his Masters of Education from Wright State University. He taught and coached in Huntsville and Belle Center and was the principal for Bellefontaine Middle School for many years and was Assistant to the Superintendent of Bellefontaine Schools, before retiring in 1988. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and was a charter member of the BMRT Rescue Squad. Russel was a member of Belle Center United Methodist Church and a veteran of the US Air Force.
Visitation will be held at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Belle Center on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 from 4-8 pm. Pastor Kevin Smith will officiate a funeral service on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center.
