Jonathan Douglas Hardy, 36, of Bellefontaine, OH, died Sunday afternoon, October 13, 2013 at OSU Medical Center, Columbus, OH due to complications during a recent surgery from a nine-year battle of cancer.
Jon was born on January 29, 1977 in Columbia, MD. He is the son of James D. Hardy, who survives in New Braunfels, TX and Jenny (Bob) Strayer of Lakeview, OH. On December 1, 2011, he married his love Bridgett, in Russells Point, OH.
He is also survived by two sons, Nate Hardy and Lane Howard, a brother, Jason (Anne) Hardy of Cape Canaveral, FL, grandparents, Thomas “Jaji” and Delores “Bushia” Hardy of New Braunfels TX, Godparents, Tom (Marie) Hardy of North Manchester, IN and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jon was a 1995 graduate of Indian Lake High School. He worked for Honda of America for eleven years. A sports enthusiast, he was an avid Cleveland Browns and Chicago Bulls fan. His favorite thing was being a DAD to Nate and Lane. Jon was quick witted and enjoyed making light of any situation. He was loved by all that knew him and will be greatly missed.
A funeral mass will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Saint Patrick Church in Bellefontaine, OH. A Celebration of Jon’s Life will follow at Bridgett and Jon’s home outside of Bellefontaine beginning at 1:00 pm.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Nate and Lane Scholarship fund (Benefit Account) c/o Honda Federal Credit Union.
