Eleanor Pim King

With His indescribable love, God welcomed Eleanor Pim King into her eternal home on November 21, 2013.

She was born December 5, 1923 to Florence and Lee Pennock at their farm in the valley of Zanesfield, Ohio where she and her sister, Mary, spent a childhood filled with family love and learned an appreciation for the beauty of nature and animals. She graduated from high school in Zanesfield, Ohio and attended Muskingham College where she earned her teaching certificate. She taught elementary school in Belle Center, Middleburg, and West Liberty-Salem Schools. She was an active member of the Methodist Women, the Fortnightly Club, Farmers’ Institute and Grange.

The joy of music became a part of her life at an early age. She shared that gift in her church choir, at weddings, and as a part of a quartet which included some of her best friends. The Christmas season was one of her favorites and her singing “Sweet Little Jesus Boy” and “O, Holy Night” was part of many a service as was her narration of “The Littlest Angel.”

First and foremost she was a devoted farm wife of over sixty years to her husband, Ned L. King, who she married on July 15, 1945; and a dedicated mother to her three daughters, Nancy (Nick) McGuire, Jane (Bob) Vest, and Becky (Mike) Nessler. Her family was her focus and she could never do enough for them. Their safety and care was always on her mind, even to the end of her days on this earth.

In addition to her husband and daughters, she is survived by grandchildren Anicia (Rob) Smith, Michael (Tonya) McGuire, Peter (Melinda) McGuire, Nichole (John) Spencer, Christy (Josh) Astorino, Thomas (Kylie) McGuire, Mamie McGuire, Molly McGuire, Jennie (Joshua) Sizemore, Addie (Kendrick) Fitzgerald, Logan (Karen) Nessler, and Sarah Nessler; nineteen great-grandchildren; two nieces; two nephews; and cousins. She was preceded in death by an infant son and a brother, Elwood Pennock.

A time for greeting and sharing with the family, at her church home, the West Liberty United Methodist Church, will be held from 1-3pm on Monday, November 25, 2013 with a celebration of life service at 3pm.

Memorial contributions may be made to the West Liberty United Methodist Church, 202 W. Newell St. West Liberty, OH 43357.

Funeral arrangements are in the care of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty, and condolences may be expressed at www.edsfh.com.
