Betty A. Vonderhuevel, 80, of DeGraff, went home peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at Kindred Hospital, Lima, Ohio.
Betty was born on November 1, 1933, in Champaign County, Ohio, to the late Charlie and May (Dorsey) Partington. She had resided in Logan and Shelby counties.
On November 18, 1951, Betty married Marion A. Vonderhuevel and he preceded her in death on October 21, 2010.
Surviving are her five children, Vicky Oliver, of DeGraff, Linda (John) Baker, of St. Augustine, Florida, Jenny Vonderhuevel, of DeGraff, Carrie (Bob) Clark, of St. Augustine, Florida, Marion Jr. (Sherry) Vonderhuevel, of Quincy; 15 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Cox, of Troy.
Betty was also preceded in death by two brothers, Howard Davis and Walter Partington and one sister, Norma Strayer.
Betty worked for 26 years before retiring from the Copeland Corporation in Sidney. She was a member of the Sidney United Methodist Church and a great Christian lady who was very easy going and loved to be around people. She will be deeply missed by her family and her devoted friends.
Graveside services were held on Friday, August 1, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., at the Greenwood-Union Cemetery, Route 235, DeGraff, Ohio, with Dr. David Chivington and Rev. Eileen Hix officiating. Burial followed the services.
Visitation hours for Betty were Thursday, July 31, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, Sidney, Ohio.
