Janet L. Garrison, 64, of Huntsville, passed away Friday, July 13, 2012 at St. Rita’s Medical Center.
Janet was born in Kenton, Ohio on August 1, 1947 to the late Otis M. and Mary L. Sherwood Kinikin. Also preceding her in death were brothers Dana, Jim and Kenny Kinikin, sister Joy Kinikin and a daughter Kimberly Dawn Garrison. On May 11, 1968 she married Richard Garrison, they later divorced and he survives in Lakeview.
Janet was an Avon representative for 30+ years and received numerous awards. She also worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She enjoyed reading and playing pool. A member of Indian Lake Community Church, Janet also was a member of the Doyle R. Miller AmVets Post #39 and Indian Lake Eagles #3615. She was active in the Outreach Center in Russells Points, Young At Heart Senior Center in Lakeview where she had been treasurer and most recently attended the Byhalia Friends Church.
She is survived by a son Stephen M. Garrison of Bellefontaine and his fiancé Nikki Dickinson, grandchildren Kaleigh Dawn Garrison of Indian Lake, Stephen Edwin Garrison of West Liberty, Morgan Nicole Garrison and Skylar Micheal Garrison both of Bellefontaine, a great-granddaughter Ivy Leigh Moon Garrison, sister Terri (Wade) Bowen of Columbus, brother Dennis (Betty) Kinikin of Richwood, sister-in-law Peggy Kinikin of Byhalia, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pastor Jim Gardner will conduct a funeral service on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 2PM at the Myron Van Horn Chapel, Smith-Eichholtz Funeral Home, Lakeview, where visitation will be held two hours prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date in Price Cemetery, Larue.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, St. Rita’s Dialysis Program or the Mad River Dialysis Center.
