Roger A. Shaw, 94, of Rushsylvania, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 9:15 p.m. at Logan Acres Nursing Home, Bellefontaine.
He was born on September 24, 1917 in Rushcreek Township in Logan County, Ohio, a son of the late William Abner & Lulu Mary (Miller) Shaw. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Caldwell; brothers, Theron, Willard, Melvin, Robert & Wilbur Shaw; brother-in-law, Art Caldwell and sister-in-laws, Alma & Emma Shaw.
On August 19, 1949 he married the former Audra Irene Reinhart and she survives along with sister-in-laws, Goldie, Avonelle and Helen Shaw and several nieces & nephews.
Roger served in the United States Army until 1945 and then came home to work for H.G. Short, MacGillvary Motors, and Anderson Ford where he retired as an auto mechanic.
He was also a faithful member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Bellefontaine.
Pastor Jeffory Willetts will conduct a funeral service at 2:00 p .m. on Friday, July 27, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church where friends may call from one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Miami Cemetery, Rushsylvania with military rites by the Logan County Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to Logan Acres Nursing Home Pet Fund, Alzheimer’s Association, or the donor’s choice.
