Sheila Jean Salyer, 73, of Lakeview, passed away Thursday morning August 9, 2012 at her home.
Jean was born on January 26, 1939, in DeGraff, OH to the late George and Virginia Zimpher Amos. On August 6, 1965, she married Curtis Salyer, Jr. at Stoney Creek Church near DeGraff and he survives. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Connie Comer.
She is also survived by a niece, Luann (Tom) Schmidtmeyer of Jackson Center, Ohio, a nephew, Doug (Kim) Comer of DeGraff, an aunt, Ruth Brusman of Vandalia, Ohio, and several cousins.
Jean was a 1957 graduate of DeGraff High School. A grocer by trade, Jean worked for many years at Cardinal Grocery in DeGraff. Together with her husband, Jean also owned and operated Salyer’s Grocery in Quincy, Ohio. Her hobbies included painting, working with decals, shell art and baking.
Pastor Bobbi Allen conducts funeral services at 4:00 pm Sunday, August 12, 2012 with visitation from 2-4 pm at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview.
