John Joseph Harshbarger, 55, of Lakeview, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, August 14, 2012. He passed away at Memorial Hospital in Marysville.
He was born on December 4, 1956 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine to the late Lloyd Joseph and Juanita “Dolly” Mae (Daines) Harshbarger. On July 1, 2005 he married the former Sandy Smith and she preceded him in death on December 16, 2006.
John is survived by his children, Jared Harshbarger and Jesica Meeker, both of Bellefontaine; his companion, Sue Cline of Lakeview; 4 sisters, Laura J. (Donald) Brown, Roxanne M. (Bill) Woodruff, both of Bellefontaine, Phyllis I. (Dave) Fairchild of Rushsylvania, and Deborah K. (Dan) Craig of West Mansfield; grandchildren, Julian, Avery and Aidan Meeker and Layla Harshbarger; and many nieces and nephews.
John worked for Honda of America, Marysville for 29 years. He attended the Hi-Point Joint Vocational School and graduated in 1976 from Benjamin Logan School. He also attended the Church of the Brethren and was a former member of the Bellefontaine Lions Club and a member of the WKA Racing. He was an avid NASCAR fan and an Ohio State Buckeye fan. John will be truly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation will be at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine on Friday, August 17th from 4 to 8 where Pastor Fred Clogg will officiate at an 11:00 am funeral service on Saturday, August 18th. Burial will be in the Rushsylvania Cemetery.
