Linda Mae Godwin, 80, of West Liberty, formerly of DeGraff, passed away Friday morning, August 24, 2012 at Green Hills Care Center, West Liberty.
She was born on May 18, 1932 in Bellefontaine, OH to the late William Ray & Alma Dilbone Rogers. On June 18, 1950, she married Ervin L. Godwin at the Muchinnippi Church, Lewistown, OH, and he preceded her in death on August 3, 1990. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Leota Rogers and a brother, William Rogers.
She is survived by a daughter, Julie (Ray) Bodenmiller of Bellefontaine, two sons, Larry (Jody) Godwin and Bruce (Carolyn) Godwin, both of DeGraff, seven grandchildren, J. Andrew Godwin, Corey Godwin, Dan Defibaugh, Katie Organ, Lindsey Hudson, J. Corey Powell and Jessi Valerio, ten great grandchildren, Makaela Godwin, Madilynn Godwin, Owen Godwin, Payton Powell, Skylyn Powell, Levi Godwin, Simon Godwin, Jessa Powell, Rylie Organ, and Greyson Godwin, three step-great grandchildren, Hayley Phillips, Hannah Phillips, and Kearstin Linkinhoker, and a sister, Shirley O’Brien of Bellefontaine.
Linda was a 1950 graduate of Washington Local School. She was a homemaker and member of New Richland Baptist Church in New Richland, OH and its SOS Ladies organization. She was a 4-H leader for many years and served on the 4-H Extension Advisory Committee. She was an avid reader.
Pastor Steve Smith conducts funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview. Visitation is Monday, August 27th from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Burial is in Greenwood-Union Cemetery, DeGraff, OH.
Memorial contributions may be given in her name to Green Hills Care Center.
