Kay Abraham, 73, of Bellefontaine, passed away at 5:26 a.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at her home.
She was born in Bellefontaine on March 11, 1939 to the late Virgil and Alice (Newforth) Knowlton.
On May 8, 1960 she married Richard Abraham in Bellefontaine, and he survives, along with their two sons; Scott (Julie) Abraham and Daryl (fiance’ April Donnelly) Abraham, both of Bellefontaine; two grandchildren, Emily and Andrew Abraham; a sister, Ann (Wayne) Jerviss of Bellefontaine and step sisters Joyce (Denny) Dyer and Noreen (Ron) Adkins both of Vandalia. A brother, Jack Ross Knowlton, and step father, William Bowdle, preceded her in death.
Kay worked as a secretary at the CENTURY 21 The RHA Group Realty Inc. office in Bellefontaine. She was a member of the Bellefontaine United Methodist Church where she was active in the choir, teaching Sunday School and the King’s Daughters. She was also a poll worker & presiding judge for the Logan County Board of Elections for more than 30 years. An avid reader and cook, Kay enjoyed traveling and meeting new people, and was known for faithfully sending cards to others for special occasions.
A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine with Gene Marine officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 2nd from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery. Memorial contribution may be made to the Logan County Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
