Walter J. “Jack” Widmark, Sr., 76, of Lakeview, passed away early Thursday morning, November 8, 2012 at his home.
He was born on April 8, 1936 in Lima, OH to the late Harold & Alma Paden Widmark. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Gladys Jeanneret, Audrey Alspaugh, and Louise Winks, and three brothers, Russell, Robert, and Dale.
On September 24, 1959, he married the former Peggy McNeal in Lima, and she survives along with a daughter, Tina Savage of Belle Center, OH, two sons, Stewart Widmark of Mechanicsburg, OH, and Jack Widmark, Jr. of Zanesfield, OH, seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two sisters, Jane Plummer of Lima and Linda (James) Rice of Elida, OH, and several nieces and nephews.
Jack was a veteran of the United States Army. He formerly worked for Airstream in Jackson Center, OH, Rockwell in Kenton, OH, and Excello Corporation in Lima. He was a member of the Doyle R. Miller Amvets Post #39, Indian Lake FOE #3615, and Indian Lake Moose Lodge # 1533, all of Lakeview. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and playing cards. Jack was a great Dad who loved being with his family and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 12, 2012 at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview. Visitation is Sunday, November 11th from 2-5 pm at the funeral home. Burial is in Huntsville Cemetery with military honors provided by the Logan County Veteran’s Honor Guard.
