Lowell Eugene “Gene-o” Line, 78, of Bellefontaine, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, November 17, 2012. He was born in Logan County, Ohio on February 22, 1934 to the late Lowell Jesse and Mildred Almeda Staley Line.
He is survived by his former wife Roxie Line and their children; Gina (Rob) Fill of Hilliard, Marcy (Brad) Ward of Columbus, Larry Line of Tucson, Arizona, Lance (Jennifer) Line of Bellefontaine and Kimberly Ogelsbee of Bellefontaine; four grandchildren, Kayla Line, Billy Ogelsbee, Levi Ogelsbee and Rylee Ogelsbee; two sisters, Liz (Harold) Cavinder of Sidney and Leila (Clint) Morris of Urbana; a brother, Larry (Dianne) Line of Russells Point; and numerous nieces and nephews. A sister Linda Blaine preceded him in death.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, Gene-o retired from Airstream after 38 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion in Sidney and served as Commander of the Jackson Center VFW in 1975-76 and 1984-85.
A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Smith-Eichholtz Funeral Home in Jackson Center. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 20th from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery in New Hampshire with military rites by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
In celebration of Gene-o’s life, family and friends are invited to Route 47 Bar & Grill in Port Jefferson following the committal service at the cemetery.
Memorial contribution may be made to any veteran organization. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Smith-Eichholtz Funeral Home in Jackson Center.
