Robert Philip “Feeney” Palmer, Sr.

Robert Philip “Feeney” Palmer, Sr., 69, of Battle Creek, MI, formerly of Lakeview, OH, went home to be with his Lord, Friday, November 16, 2012, while at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo, MI.

He was born on January 2, 1943, in Springfield, OH, a son of the late Kenneth L. & Myrtle A. Teach Palmer. On December 16, 1961, he married the former Carolyn Shigley and she preceded him in death. On July 13, 1968, he married the former Mary “Coni” Wolfe at the Indian Lake Community Church in Russells Point, OH and she survives. He was also preceded in death by two sons, James H. Rosenburg and Kenneth L. Palmer, a granddaughter, Kristi Nolan, and two brothers, Jerry L. Palmer and Ronald L. Palmer.

He is also survived by four children, Carla (Rick) Nolan of Bellefontaine, OH, Kathy Blosser of Orlando, FL, Robert (Lesa) Palmer of Russells Point, and Larry (Amanda) Palmer, 25 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, three sisters, Barbara Hill and Shirley Clark, both of Russells Point, and Kay Reprogle of Lakeview, and a brother, Donald Palmer, of Lakeview.

Feeney attended Stokes Local Schools in Lakeview. He was a member of Hope Nazarene Church, FOE #299, and Polish National Alliance, all in Battle Creek, MI, and Indian Lake FOE #3615, and Indian Lake Moose Lodge #1533, and a former member of Sons of Amvets Post #39, all of Lakeview. He enjoyed restoring antique and classic cars, riding motorcycles, watching NASCAR, playing euchre and darts, camping and traveling. He loved being with his family and his two dogs, Max and Smokey.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 pm, Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Shoffstall Funeral Home, Lakeview with visitation from 2-5.

Memorial contribution may be given in his name to Universal Home Health and Hospice Care.
