David Earl Doss, 66, of Bellefontaine, passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at 5:15 at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.
He was born in Dayton, Ohio on April 17, 1946, a son of the late David E. and Gertrude F. (Castl) Doss. He was also preceded in death by brothers-in-law Alvin Johnson and Vince Matsnagougha.
He was employed as an inspector at Master Swaging in Jackson Center and also at Crown Equipment in New Bremen.
He is survived by daughters, Angela (Beau) Monroe of Lakeview, Misty (Larry) Kuczynski of Parma Heights; sons, Tony (Kelly) Doss of Wapakoneta, Mike (Dede) Doss of Bellefontaine and Tim (Patti) Doss of Plainfield, Illinois; grandchildren: Cassie, Steven, Joel, Amber, Jarrett, Paige, Ben, Shelby; sisters, Jean Johnson and Luella “Sis” Matsnagougha both of Dayton; many nieces and nephews; longtime friends John and Barb Keating of Lewistown and the mother of his children, Janet Bodi of Lakeview.
A member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and St. Vincent DePaul Society in Bellefontaine, he was also a 1964 graduate of Lewistown High School and a member of Knights of Columbus in Russells Point. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and coin collecting.
Deacon Harold Dipple will officiate a funeral on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 10 a.m. in the Myron Van Horn Chapel of Smith-Eichholtz Funeral Home, Lakeview where friends may call on Thursday, January 24, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. Burial will take place at Hill Grove Cemetery, Dayton.
