A local powerlifter recently won two world titles and broke five state records.
Riverside senior Ashtyn Defibaugh competed in the World Association Bench lifters & Dead lifters World Powerlifting Championships at the Peppermill Hotel, Spa & Casino in Reno, Nevada.
Ashtyn, who is 5’ and weighs only 111 lbs, benched 99 lbs in the 18-19 year-old, 123 lb division to set 2 state records and grab the world title. In deadlift she lifted her personal high of 236 lbs. to also break 3 state records and bring home the gold.
Ashtyn has been a part of the Riverside Powerlifters for three years and is coached by Scott Stewart.
She is the daughter of Staci Severt of DeGraff and Mike Defibaugh of Bellefontaine.
