Thompson was joined by her parents and teammates when she signed with the Division II school located in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Thompson, who's a strong student, said she chose Queens because of its location and coaches and players that share her passion for the game. The Royals compete in the Southern Athletic Conference.
Thompson has a 3.2 grade point average. She plans on majoring in sports management, then pursuing a law degree.
The six-footer expects to play middle hitter in college.
Thompson was a three-year starter for Benjamin Logan. She was first-team all-league this season and named special mention last year.
Thompson, who started looking at colleges three years ago, also considered several Division III schools.
Listen to Thompson recap her decision and the recruiting process.
Listen to Benjamin Logan head coach Alli Reule reflect on the signing and Thompson's special attributes.
The NCAA early signing period runs through next Wednesday.
