Chiefs swim to narrow victory, Girls place second

The Bellefontaine High School swim team opened their season at home with a meet against Botkins and Minster Tuesday.

The boys won the meet 75-71-40 by taking the lead during the last relay.

The girls finished 2nd to Minster with final scores of 103-72-34.

The medley relay of Molly Schulz, Jessica Miller, Emily Fulmer, and Emma Smith finished in first with a time of 2:01.64 and broke the existing school record of 2:01.69.

Emily Fulmer won the 100 Fly in 1:05.19, breaking the school record by just over 3 seconds.

First-place finishes came from Isaiah Brady (200 IM and 100 Fly), Jessica Miller (50 Free), Emily Fulmer (100 Free), Cayden DeMent (100 Free), Molly Schulz (100 Back), and the boys 400 Free Relay of Cayden DeMent, Adam Verbsky, Josh Robbins, and Isaiah Brady.

The team will travel to New Carlisle Friday.
