Urbana's 8-0 spurt to open the third quarter proved to be the pivotal sequence in the Hillclimbers' upset of host Bellefontaine, 45-41, in boys basketball action Tuesday.
This marks the fourth straight win by the 'Climbers over the Chieftains, including tourney games.
Urbana's aggressive and effective man defense limited the Chiefs to four points in the second quarter and seven in the third.
Urbana's Nathan Mays was the Steve Austin's Auto Group Player of the Game which he earned by scoring 15 points and hitting two critical free throws in the closing seconds.
Tristin Tillman scored 17 points for the Chiefs.
The win is the fourth in a row for Urbana, which improves to 8-4 on the season. The 'Climbers remain atop the Mad River division of the CBC with a perfect 5-0 record.
The Chiefs have lost three straight and fall to 7-5, but remain on top of the Kenton Trail division with a 4-1 mark.
Bellefontaine posted a 52-31 win over Urbana in the JV game.

Bellefontaine travels to face CBC rival Kenton Ridge Friday. All of the action can be heard on 1390 WBLL. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
In other Central Buckeye Conference action Tuesday, Tipp City rolled to a 70-49 win over Indian Lake.
Christian Grider paced the Lakers with 14 points, while Jalon Tuttle also reached double figures with 13. Chris Teague had eight points in the loss.
The Indian Lake freshman team beat Tipp City 51-38.
Dylan Albright had 18 points. Alex Jacobs and Nate Kaffenbarger each added 10.
The Lakers are 9-0.
In a non-league contest, Riverside ran past Botkins 60-44.
Sophomore Landon Kelsey had 20 points, Dalton Bollinger tallied 19 points and 8 rebounds, and Kolt Shough added 12 points and 7 assists.
The Bellefontaine eighth- and seventh-grader boys basketball teams split a pair a games with Urbana Tuesday.
The eighth-graders hung a goose egg on the Hillclimbers in the fourth quarter, using an 11-0 run to post a 37-32 win.
Spencer George scored 18 points for the Chieftains, while Cameron Mitchell had seven points and Kaidon Davis-Hughes scored six.
Urbana took the seventh-graders game, 36-13. Jack Clement scored six points in the loss.
