The West Liberty-Salem girls track and field team competed at the Wayne Invitational over the weekend.
The meet is one of the largest in the state, with over 50 teams competing.
Sophomore Morgan Freyhof had a strong showing in the 100 meter dash, placing 6th overall. Freyhof was the only Division III athlete to place in the event.
Other highlights were the 4x100 meter and 4x400 meter relay teams of Michaela Rausch, Abigail Rabenstein, Ashley Rabenstein, and Freyhof posting their best times of the season.

Head coach Ann Vogel said, "Wayne has some of the best D1 and D2 competition in the state. For us it's not necessarily about placing, but more about getting out of our comfort zone and competing against athletes we don't normally see. The meet is a great way to prepare for the post season."
West Liberty-Salem will host the Tiger Invitational sponsored by Reliant Mechanical Friday with field events kicking off at 4:45 p.m. There will also be a senior recognition ceremony beginning at 4:30 p.m.
In college track, former Bellefontaine standout Nate Orndorf placed 6th in the 10K at the conference meet (GLIAC) Thursday, running it in 31:25.
Grand Valley State University's men's and women's teams won the conference championship.
Orndorf is a redshirt freshman at Grand Valley State.
