Markin sets school scoring record - Tuesday soccer finals

The West Liberty-Salem varsity boys soccer team ran past Miami East 7-3 Tuesday night.

Standout Neil Markin had 2 goals to break the career scoring record.

Markin has 53 goals.

The previous record was held by Brad Stengel.

Raiph LeVan and Ethan Cole each scored twice.

Ian Wolfe added a goal.

LeVan had 2 assists, while Lance Baldwin and Andrea Salcito each delivered an assist.

Elias Kirker-Napiorkowski played well in goal recording 12 saves.

The Benjamin Logan varsity boys team beat visiting Jackson Center 3-1.

The Raiders led 2-0 at the half.

George Kern recorded a hat trick. He has 15 goals on the season.

Rylan Studebaker had an assist.

The Raiders improve to 5-2.

They will visit Bellefontaine tonight.

Jackson Center is 3-2-1.

The West Liberty-Salem varsity girls shut out Miami East 5-0.

Gabby Hollar scored 3 goals and Grace Estes and Rachel Davis each added a goal.

Kaitlyn Michael, Madison Bender, Taylor Lauck, and Hollar each delivered an assist.

Paige Shafer recorded 2 saves in goal.

The Lady Tigers improve to 6-0 and face Greeneview Thursday.

Jr. High:

Benjamin Logan #2 defeated Benjamin Logan #1 3-1.

Rhea Harner, Brady Burrey, and Graham Studebaker each scored.

Calep Epp had 2 assists.

Brooks Henry added an assist.

For Benjamin Logan #1, Blaine Warden scored off an assist from Gavin Jones.

Benjamin Logan #2 moves 6-0.

Benjamin Logan #1 is 2-3.

On Monday night, Benjamin Logan #2 blanked West Liberty #2 4-0.

Brady Burrey had 2 goals and 2 assists.

Caleb Epp tallied 2 goals and an assist.

Eric Hughes delivered an assist.

6, 7, & 8th Grade Travel Soccer:

TLC defeated Indian Lake #2 7-2.

For Bellefontaine, Keaton Stachler scored 3 goals and Griffen Graham, Morgan Henry, Carmen Shumaker, and Joslyn Robison and each added a goal.

For Indian Lake#2, Ryan Culp and Camden Tuttle each scored a goal.

TLC will host Benjamin Logan #2 Thursday.

County league U11:

Last week, Calvary Christian shut out Indian Lake #3 3-0.

Nehemiah Dillon scored 2 goals and Lincoln Roell added a goal.

Elijah LeCrone tallied an assist.

Fletch Lambert and Silas Krabill combined to record the shutout in goal.
