Updated: Dixon, Mefford make podium at state wrestling tournament; Graham dominates

Two Indian Lake wrestlers wrapped up their career in style Saturday at the state wrestling tournament at Value City Arena.

Connor Dixon (182) and Cole Mefford (220) made the podium in Division III.

Dixon placed 5th and Mefford finished 7th.

Dixon pinned Jake Loar of Massillon Tuslaw in 21 seconds.

On Thursday, Dixon pinned Loar in the opening round.

Dixon finished his senior campaign 50-5.

Mefford defeated Crawford Hamrick of Massillon Tuslaw 5-0.

Mefford went 39-9 this winter.

Overall, Indian Lake finished 24th with 25 points.

Annual powerhouse Graham again took the state title in Division II with 231 points.

Eight Graham wrestlers advanced to the state finals with four taking gold: Tanner Jordan (113), Mitch Moore (145), Joey Sanchez (152), and Rocky Jordan (170).

Four Falcons were runner-up: Alek Martin (120), Nick Moore (126), Ryan Thomas (160), and Gage Braun (195).
