Updated: Raiders power past Chiefs, Lady Tigers record shutout - Tuesday ball finals

Area ball teams were in action Tuesday evening.

The Benjamin Logan varsity boys beat Bellefontaine 7-2.

For the Raiders, Cole Jones recorded a triple, 3 RBIs, and 2 runs, Cole Waugh doubled and scored 3 runs, and Jacob Powell tallied 2 RBIs.

Waugh fired a no-hitter and fanned 8 batters.

For Bellefontaine, starter Tommy Belser recorded 4 strikeouts.

The JV Raiders beat Bellefontaine 8-2.

Blake Peterson posted the win.

He tossed five scoreless innings with 10 Ks.

Tanner Perkins recorded the save.

Perkins and Carter Rees had multiple hits.

The Riverside varsity boys defeated Lima Perry 3-1.

Nick Hall, RJ McGowen, and Josh Ritzma each recorded an RBI and Aaron Kean stole 3 bases.

McGowen pitched a complete game.

The West Liberty-Salem varsity boys beat Springfield Catholic 11-3.

Zech Wilcox doubled twice and recorded 2 RBIs and Jacob VanHorn scored 2 runs.

Cayden Whitman earned the win.

The Tigers improve to 2-1 on the season and will host West Jefferson Wednesday.

The West Liberty-Salem varsity girls shut out Springfield Catholic 18-0 in 5 innings.

Mady Stratton ripped a home run and double and recorded 3 RBIs and 2 runs. Hallie Strapp tripled and Hannah Riblet doubled and contributed 2 RBIs.

Kelsey Day was the winning pitcher.

The Lady Tigers improve to 3-0 and will host West Jefferson Wednesday.

The Riverside varsity girls beat Lima Perry 17-1 in 5 innings.

Marissa Davis totaled 2 home runs, a triple, and 5 RBIs. Leah Kelsey, Shelby Giles, and Stanley each doubled.

Jalynn Stanley fired 8 strikeouts.

The Lady Pirates will travel to Benjamin Logan Thursday.
