Jr. Acme stays hot; Maple Leaf advances in Little League tournament

Many ball teams around the area were at the plate Monday night.

Jr. Acme:

The Bellefontaine Merchants handled Piqua 13-3.

Jordan Baughman tripled and drove in two runs while Caleib Johnson recorded a double and two RBI’s.

Gauge Hayman and John Kirby both doubled, Lane Kiser had two hits, and Clay Russell tallied two RBI’s.

Bellefontaine is 10-6. They will play at Troy tonight.

Little League:

Bellefontaine #1 Maple Leaf defeated Bellefontaine #3 McDonald’s 19-8.

Jaydric Clifton had an 84-pitch complete game for the win.

Owen O’Connor went 3-for-3 and Nicklaus Lyons, Major Stratton, and Nick Dolan all went 2-for-2.

For McDonald’s, Johnny Ganson had an in-the-park grand slam.

Farm League:

Huntsville #1 Fulkerson Excavating and Zupp Trucking ousted Rushsylvania 10-0 in the opening round of the tournament.

Austin Parker and Ethan Fulkerson combined for ten strikeouts.

Garrett Gross and Seth Shields each went 3-for-3. Fulkerson went 2-for-2.

For Rushsylvania, Comer and Smith had singles.

A&E Camping routed Levan’s Power Equipment 12-3.

Alex Pulfer, Miles Harte, Cameron Pulfer, and Dylan Welch combined for 13 strikeouts on the mound.

Tanner Wical hit a triple.

Washington #2 defeated Belle Center #2.

Logan Evans and Reese Lensman combined for 16 Ks.

Kyle Levan and Logan Evans delivered hits.

Softball:

In 14 and under, Lakeview Osgood State Bank outplayed Bellefontaine #2 13-7.

Erin Whitcher belted a triple and two RBI’s, Kenzie Jones had a triple and an RBI, and Abby Watson tallied a double and an RBI. Marissa Albert and Amber Hoelscher each had two RBI’s.

Albert earned the victory.

In 12 and under, Huntsville Triple K Farms ended their game with an 8-8 tie due to time limit.

Tatum Reprogal recorded ten strikeouts.

Skyler Timbrook hit a triple while Reprogal and Britney Pond both doubled. Gianna Hagadorn went 2-for-2 and Aubrey Grider and Kelly Shoffner each went 2-for-3. Peyton Farley and Allie Gentis each went 1-for-2.
