Little League:
County Little League teams are still in action at the postseason tournament in Zanesfield.
West Liberty #1 Thompson, Dunlap, & Heydinger edged Huntsville 8-6, advancing to the championship game.
Mat Prince and Levi Moell combined on the mound, striking out nine.
Jacob Van Horn led West Liberty with a key three-run double. Prince, Trevor Burden, and Braden Miller each singled, scored, and had RBI’s.
For Huntsville, Aaron Malarkey went 3-for-3 with two RBI’s.
Farm League:
Huntsville #1 Fulkerson Excavating and Zupp Trucking defeated Ridgemont 6-4 in tournament action.
Garrett Gross, Austin Parker, and Ethan Fulkerson combined for 15 strikeouts.
Adrian Ramos went 3-for-3 leading the offense. Fulkerson added two hits and Gross smacked a home run.
For Ridgemont, Martino had a double and Gale belted a triple.
Softball:
14 and under, Lakeview Osgood State Bank beat Bellefontaine #1 13-5.
Kenzie Jones and Meliesha Hengsteler combined for 12 strikeouts with Hengsteler earning the victory.
Hengsteler had a home run and four RBI’s, Katie Banning hit a single, double, and an RBI, Jones had two singles and two RBI’s, and Abby Watson added a single, double, and two RBI’s. Madison Thompson contributed two singles and an RBI.
Osgood State Bank ends the regular season with a record of 10-2. They start the postseason tournament this Saturday at Lakeview.
12 and under, Huntsville Triple K Farms won over Bellefontaine #1 12-6.
Tatum Reprogal recorded ten strikeouts for the win.
Skyler Timbrook went 2-for-2, Reprogal went 2-for-3, Peyton Farley and Allie Gentis each went 1-for-2. All four had an RBI. Kaylee Foreman had two RBI’s.
