Huntsville advances to Farm League title game

Several area baseball and softball teams were in action last night.

Farm League:

Huntsville #1 Fulkerson Excavating and Zupp Trucking defeated Belle Center #1 14-7 to advance to the county tournament championship game.

Garrett Gross and Ethan Fulkerson combined on the mound for 11 strikeouts.

Fulkerson and Gross each had three hits, Trenton Fulkerson reached base three times, and Austin Parker and Chris Murphy added two hits apiece.

For Belle Center, Peterson and McKennick each had three hits.

Huntsville will play Monday night at West Mansfield in the finals.

F.O.P. beat All-Around Awards 14-8 in city tournament action.

Markus Brugler, Justin Ritzma, and Nathaniel Schmid combined for the win.

Brugler led the way with three hits. Ritzma, Korbin Fox, and Gaige Sheeley each had two hits. Ryan Stuhlemmer had a double and Schmid added a triple.

Lee’s Roofing defeated Levan’s Power Equipment 18-11.

Brenneke Wilcoxin blasted a home run, Cole Comstock tripled, and Kane Adkins and Anthony Snapp each doubled.

T-Ball:

Washington #1 Fast Track Signs defeated West Mansfield #2 in tournament play.

Stephanie Altstaetter, Shayden Fruchey, and Alex Schaub all had home runs. Lillian DeBoard, Savannah Hill, and Alex Kinney went 3-for-3.

Caleb Altstaetter, Cy Cummins, Luke Schaub, and Kolten Manahan shined on defense.

Pony League:

Bellefontaine Lions Club routed West Mansfield 17-4.

Boris Patterson was the winning pitcher, striking out nine.

Tyler Jones had three hits while Nick Kurtz and Clay Wisner each added two hits.

Craig tripled for West Mansfield.

Exchange Club and Lakeview split a doubleheader. Exchange won the first game 11-1.

Nathan Langenfeld and Connor Burton struck out 13 in the win.

Burton had a triple, a double, and three RBI’s, Zack Gilbert recorded two hits and two RBI’s, and Hayes Roebuck tallied two hits and three RBI’s.

For Lakeview, Michael Mallory had two hits.

Lakeview won the second game 7-6.

Mallory had a triple and Farris had two doubles.

For Exchange, Langenfeld and Gilbert each had two hits and two RBI's. Sam Martz added two hits and an RBI.

Ridgemont ran past Zanesfield 14-4.

Jace McGue and Devin Robinson scattered five hits and struck out six.

Alex Ramsey had three hits and four RBI's, Jace McGue tallied two hits and three RBI's, and Zavier McGue belted a triple.

Devin Robinson, Cameron Smith, Cade McKinley, Andrew Freshcorn, and Tony Munafo added singles.

Softball:

In high school summer league action, Benjamin Logan swept Versailles.

In the first game, Benjamin Logan rolled 15-2.

Brooklyn Terrill had seven strikeouts.

Kate Campbell led the attack with two home runs and six RBI’s, Morgan Fultz had two hits, two RBI’s, and a double, Terrill tallied two hits with a double, and Melina Hilty doubled.

Benjamin Logan captured the nightcap 11-0.

Kate Campbell fired a one-hitter and struck out twelve.

Morgan Fultz had three hits, three RBI’s, and a double, Kate Campbell contributed three hits, two RBI’s, and a triple, Melina Hilty had two hits and a triple, and Josie Stratton tallied three hits and two RBI’s.

Lakeview Osgood State Bank traveled to Lima Shawnee to play two games in the Wapak Rec League.

Lakeview won the first game 11-7 but was rained out of the second game after two-and-a-half innings.

In game one, Hannah Avila and Katie Banning combined for four strikeouts with Avila earning the victory.

April Whitcher had two singles, a home run, and two RBI’s, Meliesha Hengsteler had two singles, a triple, and two RBI’s, and Ashley Gentis added two singles.

In game two, April Whitcher, Erin Whitcher, and Hailey Wallace each had a single.
