The 14 and under Logan County postseason softball tournament was held at Emil Davis Park in Lakeview over the weekend.
Lakeview Osgood State Bank went 4-0 to claim the championship.
Lakeview defeated DeGraff 13-3 in the first game then went on to beat Bellefontaine #2 12-6. Lakeview edged Zanesfield 5-4 in the winner’s bracket final.
In the championship game, Lakeview outscored Zanesfield 7-4. With the game tied 4-4 in the top of the seventh inning, Hannah Avila delivered a single that drove in Meliesha Hengsteler. Lakeview then scored two insurance runs.
Kinzie Jones struck out the first two batters in the bottom of the seventh and a catch by second baseman Katie Banning closed the game. Jones had 12 strikeouts in the game.
Jones had four wins and 25 strikeouts over the weekend. Hengsteler had four strikeouts in one game.
For the tournament, Abby Watson tallied four singles and six RBI’s and Erin Whitcher recorded three singles, a double, a triple, a home run, and three RBI’s.
Lakeview finished the season 17-4.
