Tractors and trucks roared as they competed in a Central Ohio Tractor Pullers Association (COTPA) event at the Logan County Fair Monday Evening.
The competition included the Naturally Aspirate, V8-Powered Hot Rods, Light Pro Stock, and Street Legal Diesel Pickup classes.
Eight pullers competed in the Naturally Aspirate class. Tim Beiser, of Hamilton, pulled 315’ 3” to win the class. Mike Patterson, of Indiana, was second with 313’ 10”. Rounding out the top five were Bob Rhoades (Centerville, IN - 306' 3''), Dave Perry (Albany - 295' 5''), and Ed Gortner (Lewis Center - 294' 11'').

Ten competitors pulled in the V8-Powered Hot Rods class. Josh Van Horn, of Malta, took first and Robert Waller, of Newark, placed second. Jeff Shaw (Mt. Victory - 291' 5''), Tim Baum (Ashland - 290' 5''), and Barney Taylor (Fletcher - 288' 8'') completed the top five.

In the Light Pro Stock class, ten drivers pulled the sled. Johnny Fleck, of Minster scored 311' 7'' for the win and Zanesfield’s Joe Cronkleton pulled 307' 6'' to finish second. Also earning top five spots were Mark Fleck (Celina - 304' 5''), Jess Savage (Bellefontaine - 303' 6''), and John Donnersbach (Plymouth - 300' 5'').

Six trucks competed in the Street Legal Diesel Pickup class. Urbana’s Ryan Hurst pulled 349’ 3” to secure his victory and Logan Turner, of Urbana, placed second with 286’ 2”. Dave McGuire (Mechanicsburg - 278' 0''), Jacob Wildermuth (Lewistown - 260' 4''), and Dwayne Cooksey (East Liberty - 252' 5'') rounded out the top five.
