The 18th annual Run To Educate 5K Race, sponsored by the Logan County Education Foundation, took place Friday night at Bellefontaine High School.
Josh McClyment (pictured left), 35, of Plain City, finished first out of 163 entrants with a time of just over 17 minutes. Terry Stolly finished second. Earl Zilles placed third.
Sara Ellis (pictured right), 28, a Bellefontaine High School grad living in Newark, Delaware, was the top female finisher with a time of 18:59 seconds.
Eric Tom, executive director of the LCEF, explained that the money raised by the race benefits teacher grant programs and the foundation itself.
For the second year, the Logan County Braves participated in the race. Rose Canter, recreational director, feels this is a great opportunity for team members to exercise and interact with other race entrants.
Tom indicated that the race would not be possible without the support of its main corporate sponsor, Logan County Electric Cooperative.
