The Bellefontaine boys’ golf team scored a 343 and finished 6th at the Division I sectional tournament Wednesday.
Cody Lyons (pictured) finished 3rd shooting a 78 and earned a spot as an individual qualifier for the district tournament on October 11th at Weatherwax Golf Club in Middletown.
Coach Ryan Sawmiller said, "Cody rolled the ball well today on the greens. He was flawless through 9 holes at 1 under, but a few holes on the back 9 got him a little. However, he made a nice 8-footer for par on 18 to secure the 3rd spot. This kept him out of a four way play off, where the 3 golfers with 79 scores played for that fourth and final spot.”
Senior Travis Fowler shot an 89 and senior Landyn Butler carded a 92, Cody Hullinger fired an 89, and Jarrett Beck added a 92.
The Chiefs finished their season 34-29.
