West Liberty-Salem spikes Cedarville, Riverside falls to Bellefontaine – Monday volleyball scoreboard

Several area volleyball teams were in action Monday.

The West Liberty-Salem varsity squad defeated host Cedarville in 3 sets: 25-12, 25-13, and 25-13.

Autumn Klinger delivered 22 assists and 5 kills, Jamie Peterson contributed 14 kills, 2 blocks, 7 digs, and 3 aces, Kylee Hormann tallied 8 kills, and Courtney Milliron added 22 digs and 4 aces.

The Lady Tigers improve to 11-10 on the season.

The JV Lady Tigers lost in 3 sets: 16-25, 25-16, and 24-26.

The Riverside varsity team lost to visiting Bellefontaine in 3 sets: 25-19, 25-19, and 25-12.

For Riverside, Morgan Robison recorded 4 digs and 2 points, Stephanie Newland tallied 7 kills, 3 digs, an ace, and a block assist, Samantha Egbert contributed 9 assists, 5 points, 2 aces, and 2 kills, Karli Lump produced a kill and a block assist, Brooke Hickey delivered 8 assists, 3 kills, 3 digs, and 2 points, Jessica Davis recorded 3 points, 2 kills, and 1 dig, and Kerri Meade added 3 kills and 2 block assists.

For Bellefontaine, Kameren Haley pounded 10 kills, Jazmyn Haley, Kenzie Brunswick, and Jessica Kinchen each recorded 5 kills, Jaelyn Jester had 12 assists, Jordan Lininger delivered 10 assists, Shelbi Kauffman had 13 digs, Peighton Wagoner blasted 3 kills, and Carley Strzalka and Whitney Rader were perfect serving.

The Riverside JV fell to Bellefontaine in 3 sets.

The Chiefs (13-6) will play their last home match of the season Tuesday against Tecumesh.

The West Liberty-Salem 8th grade beat Triad in 3 sets: 25-13, 17-25, and 25-10.

Mikalia McIntosh recorded 17 points, 8 aces, 8 kills, and 3 blocks, Olivia Ames tallied 9 points, 3 aces, and 2 kills, Camille Whitcraft contributed 8 points with 4 aces, and Kelby Strapp added 3 points and 5 kills.

The 8th grade Lady Tigers improve to 6-9 and host Mechanicsburg Thursday.

The West Liberty-Salem 7th grade defeated Triad in 2 sets: 25-18 and 25-16.

Karli Dowden contributed 10 points and 3 aces, Jonni Parker recorded 8 points, 7 aces, and 3 kills, and Tory Cordell added 6 points.

The 7th grade Lady Tigers improve to 14-1 and host Mechanicsburg Thursday.

The Indian Lake 8th grade team swept Kenton 25-15, 25-18.

Sammi Miller had 9 aces and 4 kills and Brooke Lewis blasted 5 kills. Rachel Kimmel, Olivia Amspaugh, and Krissa Bailey delivered excellent passing.

The Indian Lake 7th grade team beat Kenton 25-11, 25-14.

Aubrey Grider had 10 aces, Libby Cotterman recorded 8 aces, and Jenni Kaffenbarger was perfect serving. Tatum Reprogle and Lauren Anderson had a great night in the back row. Grider and Cotterman each had kills.
