Lady Tigers soccer shuts out Triad, Calvary Christian wins

Several area soccer teams were in action Tuesday.

The West Liberty-Salem varsity girls shut out Triad 10-0.

Melany Ward fired 4 goals, Shonda Gieseke scored 2 goals, and Annika Wolfe, Morgan Freyhof, Savannah Marceau, and Kelsi Dowden each added a goal.

Ashleigh Gieseke delivered 2 assists and Shonda Gieseke, Melany Ward, and Kelsi Dowden each added an assist.

April Kelley recorded the shutout in goal.

The Benjamin Logan varsity boys fell to Fairbanks 3-0.

The Panthers took control with two goals in the first half.

The Raiders (2-12-1, 0-9-1) will host Greenon for Senior Night Thursday at 7:15.

Benjamin Logan will play Bellefontaine at Dodd Stadium in the sectional tournament next Tuesday at 7:00.

Jr. High:

Calvary Christian defeated Benjamin Logan Black 3-0.

Alan LaBelle, Andrew Reinhard, and Parker Grothaus each contributed a goal. Noah LaBelle and Cole Kennedy each delivered an assist.

Tyler Reinhard and Blake Wenger combined for the shutout in net.

Chantel Smithers, Jon Salmonowicz, Braden Studebaker, and Carrie Robb each showed great teamwork.

The Bellefontaine Junior High Travel team beat Indian Lake #2 12-1.

Katie Harmon recorded a hat trick, Lilli Levan and Mark Moreno each scored 2 goals, and Jacob Childs, Hannah Davis, Justin Clayton, Drew Jackson, and Landon Earick each added a goal.

Peyton Neeld delivered 2 assists. Landon Earick, Ben Brunswick, Katie Harmon, Ryelee Clary, and Drew Jackson each contributed an assist.

Drew Jackson made multiple saves as goalie and Baily Benton had a strong performance at center midfield.
